Spring 2008
22nd MAY
The Catfish Challenge Cup 2008
WIN A PLACE IN THE CATFISH CHALLENGE CUP 2008!!!
Thank you to all those involved with the Catfish Challenge 2007, and congratulations to the winners Matt Hall and Mark Barratt, they had a wonderful night catching four fish, three of which were over 20lb up to the biggest at 27lb. The event went extremely well with many anglers travelling the length and breadth of the country and many went to great effort to attend. Such was the success that the event has now gone to another level and I'm pleases to announce that one lucky angler can be part of next years event, all they have to do is come along and catch the biggest catfish between now and May. The reward being the chance to fish alongside the elite anglers listed on the Catfish Challenge page.
Tight lines for all of 2008, and good luck trying for a place on the Catfish Challenge

"Good news on the cat front, John Westgate from Manchester had a new lake record at 52lb 8oz. This fish is now the second confirmed 50lb+!"
"To date, it looks like we now have in excess of 12 different 40lb+ cats, ranging from 40lb to 49lb, with countless 25lb to 39lb fish; and that's just in the Horseshoe alone, making it without doubt one of, if not, the most prolific big cat water in the country!"
"At the rate it's going, with the number of multiple catches of cats coming from both Horseshoe and Longlake respectively, the next 12 months I think could see the venue put on another level by producing various 50lb fish"
Fine Carp
"Along with the cats, lets not forget that the carp are thriving, with more and more 20lb+ fish coming out on a regular basis from both Horseshoe and Longlake. So far this year, the Longlake has produced quite a few carp to 25lb and the Horseshoe has given many PB's to anglers with fish to just over 30lb!"
Spring 2008
"After a cracking 2007 I am pleased to inform all my exsisting customers and any future visitors that from March 1st 2008 the Horseshoe will be available to day ticket every weekend. This is as well as mid-week sessions of course.
Also please note that Longlake will only be available to day ticket on a minimum 24hr basis over weekends. Day sessions are only now available midweek"- For all 2008 prices please see the TICKETS page -
New additions for 2008
"I am pleased to announce we have been just been awarded a gold award for disabled accessibility. The award was accreddited by the BDAA & Dreamstore"
"During 2007 I have been busy with the help of some of my bailiffs and representatives from GHOF constructing a new pathway round the Longlake. The reason for this was to bring the lake more in line with the Horseshoe and make it much more accessible should we have a wet season like this one has been" "Just a couple of things left to say, a big thanks to all my baillifs, they are without the best around, just ask anyone who knows them, well nearly everyone, with the exception of those who have been 'naughty', then maybe they won't like them too much. thats life though""Plus a massive thanks to all my customers, the students from Sparsholt college and not forgetting a HUGE thanks to all the angling celebs who continually help me to promote the fishery, please read the TESTIMONIALS"
